# Technological analysis for prevention and civic intervention

The Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) is the public administration that manages strategic services for the 36 municipalities of the metropolitan area, covering more than 3.2 million inhabitants.

 

Its competences include mobility, environmental management, housing, social cohesion and urban safety. AMB needed to have an accurate and up-to-date assessment of existing EU technologies aimed at preventing civic insecurity and reinforcing coexistence, in order to evaluate their future implementation in the territory.

 

Challenge:

Identify, analyse and compare the technological solutions available on the European market that meet the objectives of the AMB. In addition, it was necessary to define the functional attributes, the technological architecture and the feasibility of implementing a system adapted to the metropolitan context, including a realistic budgetary and contractual estimate.

### Solution:

A technical and strategic analysis of the most relevant solutions in the EU market was carried out, assessing their future adaptability and their integration with emerging technologies. Through a structured methodology, clear comparative criteria were established to assess functionality, scalability and suitability for the metropolitan environment.

 

### Impact:

The AMB now has an objective and clear basis for decision-making on the deployment of citizen security systems, with a precise vision of the costs, complexity and requirements of the project. In addition, the necessary conditions for possible future contracting and implementation were defined.
